I’m going to be sharing some of my favorite things to do with Z&B spice blends to make everyday food that is simple, quick, good for you, and super flavorful. I find that the spice blends take care of the flavor part of the dish, making cooking really easy!
Breakfast, the most important meal of the day, seems like a logical place to start! Here at Chez Z&B, we tend to rotate through three different breakfasts: oatmeal with Quatre Epices; grits with Memphis Rub (or almost any other blend!); and a savory Herbes de Provence porridge made of steel cut oats, quinoa, and buckwheat groats. They are all warming, nutritious, sustaining, and delicious.

Breakfast Number 2: Savory Multi-Grain Porridge
Want to start your day with a bowl of comfort and gratitude? We make an amazing savory porridge from steel cut oats, quinoa, and buckwheat groats with Z&B Herbes de Provence that I swear tastes like Thanksgiving (but won’t leave you stuffed!). I set it up in the pot the night before, which makes things really convenient in the morning. Quinoa, buckwheat, and oats are excellent whole-grain sources of vitamins, minerals, protein and fiber, so this breakfast is really healthy, too.

You don’t have to be a Southerner to love grits! I may have grown up in the Mid-Atlantic, but one taste of this Southern staple and I was hooked. A simple and tasty way to start the day, they are also a perfect canvas for a variety of Z&B’s savory spice blends, from Z&B Memphis Rub to Z&B Firestorm!
